Jerry Audet is a full-time freelance writer, photographer, and editor living in Massachusetts. He is also a die-hard fisherman. Audet is a methodical, enthusiastic, and energetic person who enjoys both teaching anglers how to fish and sharing his stories and journeys from up and down the East Coast (in both words and photos). Jerry fishes for many species, but is a subject matter expert in shore-based striped bass fishing. Besides being a fisherman and writer, Audet holds an advanced degree in physiology. He is also an ultra-distance trail runner, and a lover of science-fiction.

Professional multimedia photography (online and print), including covers and features
Expert saltwater and freshwater gear reviewer

Audet has a Ph.D. in Physiology from West Virginia University and B.S. in Biology from Green Mountain College.
Audet has published well over 300 articles in diverse styles covering an array of angling topics in magazines, books, websites, and retail blogs. He’s also published nearly three-times that number of original photos, including full-page features and covers of both magazines and books.
Audet is the Managing Editor and Advertising Liaison of the online-magazine Surfcaster’s Journal which is in its 13th year of publication. He also runs a popular online seminar series for striped bass anglers. Jerry has formal training in medical and scientific editing, and has published peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts as a SEM in molecular biology/physiology.
Audet loves fishing at night—preferring it over fishing during the day. While he started fishing at night initially for striped bass, he’s found he enjoys fishing for trout, bass, and tarpon more when the moon is up, and the sun is down.
